2. Minutes.
The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed as an accurate record.
Matters Arising: there was a query about the recent Fackley Road closure, and that the diversion was inadequate – Paul Parkes observed that it had not actually been fully closed at any point.

3. Treasurers Report.
Only two transactions since the last meeting, both to Geoff for renewal of domains.
Firstly the neighbourhoodplan.org web address which was £10.01 and secondly the forum website which was £48.85. Note the repair cafe website was also renewed at the same time as the forum website and the total cost split between the forum bank account and Repair Cafe petty cash.
Thank you to Geoff for his continued maintenance of the websites!
This leaves a balance of £7,514.27 broken down as follows:
- FOSH £190.40
- Repair Café £47.75
- Energy Project £5,764.95
- RRR Fund £270
- Community Garden £300
- General £941.17
The report was accepted by the meeting.
Cathy’s contribution from her NCC discretionary fund of £300 for the Stanton Hill Rainbow Community Garden was much appreciated

4. Reports from Working Groups
Planning & Environment
The ADC carried out a public consultation for their proposed Main and Minor modifications to the draft Local Plan during 17 June 2026 to 30 July 2026.
Details of the consultation may be found hereMain Modifications consultation page.
All responses received have now been collated and summarised and may be found here Main modifications representations.
In line with Planning Policy Guidance, and at the request of the Inspectors, the Council were also asked to update their calculation of housing need.
The document reference is ADC.38 and is also available to view on the list of the Council's documents.
The Inspectors will now assess all the information which has been submitted to them and prepare their Final Report.
Paul raised questions about planning applications. Cathy Mason explained how the system works and mentioned that her updates are on her Facebook page. Lynn also has an update service.
Concerning the recent large application for house building on Wild Hill, at the end of October there will be a new Gateway Planning System, the current system will be replaced and it will be more difficult to call in decisions. This is a concern since decisions are currently frequently going against officers’ recommendations.
Previous reviews have rejected this site as unsustainable and it was not included by ADC in the local plan. Even after the Inspector required 884 more houses overall, this site was still not included in the plan. Developer Norcroft Asset Group, headed by Dr. Katy Hollis, has submitted the plans.
Cathy will be calling in this application for review by the council, with the support of the Forum.

Friends of Stanton Hill (FOSH) – Andrew Jenkins
The Co-op garden has recovered and is looking beautiful. Doug is not well and unable to attend. The Forum with ADC is nominating him and Vera for a Discover Ashfield Award.
The mural for the wall behind the garden is complete and looking good and will probably be opened at 10.00 am on Tuesday 13th October; its was observed that some mould on the wall needs cleaning.
The investment plan for Stanton Hill is available on the Forum website.
The Rainbow Community Garden group continues to meet in the Vine Tree 1t 5.30 pm second Thursday every month – all welcome! The next meeting is 8th October and the one after will be on 12th November. Further site clearing and cultivation is expected soon.
Some traffic improvements on Stanton Hill High Street have been requested, including speed indicators and repainting the zebra crossing. Cathy commented that the road needs resurfacing first.
~
Heritage – Lynn Henstock
There are relevant planning applications for Norwood Lodge and Sycamore House. The land adjacent to Heathfield is awaiting a decision for five more dwellings. Rights of Way: people informed Lynn that Vere Avenue / Skegby footpath is closed. There is nothing on the ADC website but it seems that Gleesons are resurfacing with stone. Cathy will check on this.

Climate Change & Sustainability – Andrew Jenkins
Food Share continues to go well but new volunteers would be welcome!
There has been a change made to the Nottsbus on Demand service, extending the operating zone to include Wild Hill and Tibshelf Road as far as The Carnarvon Public House. Further information on downloading and using the app, together with maps and FAQs, is available on the Nottinghamshire County Council website: Nottsbus On Demand. Andrew followed the link to the specified website and found: North East Derbyshire Zone (Z8)
Operates Monday to Friday, between 7am and 7pm (excluding bank holidays) and Saturday, between 8am and 5pm. He also phoned the Nottsbus help line, was given a clear explanation and did an example booking of a pick up on Wild Hill. So it seems this should work now for travel from Wild Hill to Chesterfield, Tibshelf and Alfreton and we hope it may later be extended to destinations in Ashfield.
The next meeting of the SHBSIP group is on December 10th, with a follow-on meeting with EMCCA staff on 14th January, both at 10.00 am in Brand Court.

5. Community Energy Project (CEP) – Andrew Jenkins
Great British Energy is now open for an application for stage 2 Feasibility Study funding, and we are working on this with SAVI, who did the first stage. After submission and a response from GBE we arrange a meeting with SAVI and the Community Energy working group to plan details of this phase. See https://tssneighbourhoodplan.org/cep/
~
6. Teversal Repair Café - Geoff Snare
The Repair Café events continue to run on the first Saturday of each month at the Teversal Visitor Centre. Our team of volunteers remains rather small, but all are very keen and turn out each month, but we are always looking for additional volunteers. https://teversalrepaircafe.org.uk/

7. Any Other Business
Sue Marriott explained that a coppice which is a wildlife refuge is getting damaged by dog walkers on the Highfields Estate at Welford Close. The wild flowers, hedges and grass need careful maintenance and an ADC gardener had previously been involved. However a recently planted hedge has just been destroyed and it is no longer a wildlife haven.
David Marriott from ADC agrees that it needs to remain a wildlife corridor and Cathy has agreed to contact ADC Environment for a progress update.
