Encourage wildlife to your garden
Increasing the biodiversity of your garden doesn't have to be hard, or compromise the way your garden looks
The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries globally, ranking in the bottom 10% worldwide and below the global average. The State of Nature Report reveals that species have declined by an average of 19% since 1970, with nearly one in six (16%) threatened with extinction across Great Britain.
Your garden doesn’t have to be wild and unkempt to attract wildlife. Many of the plants that we find attractive also attract pollinators and other insects. Plant nurseries and catalogues are getting better at including information on a plant’s attractiveness to bees and insects in their labelling, so it’s often simply a matter of choosing the right plants.
