Teversal Repair Café
The Forum is in the process of setting up a Repair Café to be held in the Teversal Visitor Centre on one Saturday each month.
The objective is to see our possessions in a new light and discourage us from throwing away well-loved items which could be repaired and returned to a useful life, rather than being sent to landfill.
We are looking to build a team of handy volunteers to be our repair wizards during the Repair Café meetings and who like to share their skills with neighbours, doing their best to repair, mend or advise, free of charge.
We are especially looking for people who are handy with:
- clothing/textiles
- electrical appliances
- bicycles
- furniture/wooden objects
- household items
- jewellery
Apart from these experts, we are also looking for volunteers who would like to act as host or hostess. In this role, you help new visitors at the reception desk and act as a contact for both the repair experts and the visitors during the Repair Café meetings.
To volunteer, or to find out more about volunteering, or to find out more about the Repair Café concept, visit the Repair Café website
