Our Neighbourhood Plan
The Teversal, Stanton Hill and Skegby Neighbourhood Plan is a new type of planning document prepared by Teversal, Stanton Hill and Skegby Neighbourhood Forum on behalf of its residents.
The Plan is a legal planning policy document and must be used by:
a) planners at Ashfield District Council in assessing planning applications
b) applicants as they prepare planning applications for submission to Ashfield District Council
The Neighbourhood Plan will work alongside Ashfield District Council’s Local Plan to regulate development, promote positive change and protect the Area’s assets.

A Brief History of the Forum and the Plan
January 2020 - Ashfield D.C. approves re-designation of the Forum for the period 2020-2025
December 2017- the final version of the Teversal, Stanton Hill & Skegby Neighbourhood Plan was formally approved by Ashfield District Council.
October 2017 - a referendum among residents in the Plan area was held, resulting in an overwhelming majority of voters supporting the Plan.
July 2017 - the Independent Examiner appointed by Ashfield D.C. completes their review of the Neighbourhood Plan and has recommended the Plan proceeds to referendum.
January 2017 - final version of the Neighbourhood Plan is submitted to Ashfield District Council.
October 2016 - the two month statutory public consultation on the Teversal, Stanton Hill & Skegby Neighbourhood Plan finishes on October 28th
March 2015 - local residents consultation exercise undertaken.
March 2015 - Ashfield D.C. gives formal approval (Designation) to Teversal, Stanton Hill & Skegby Neighbourhood Forum.
December 2014 - Ashfield District Council announces six week period of consultation on proposal for designation of a Neighbourhood Plan area for Teversal, Stanton Hill & Skegby
September 2014 - inaugural meeting of the Teversal, Stanton Hill & Skegby Neighbourhood Planning Forum.
